LIM ensemble

The Belgian accordionist Lieke op ‘t Roodt (1999, Bree) is searching for a way to surprise and inspire people with the possibilities that the instrument has to offer. She is very interested in the connection between different artforms and searches for a way to implement this into her own playing. Lieke’s biggest passion is playing together with other musicians. She is a member of LIM Ensemble and has been associated as a musician with Krachtvoer Theater in Eindhoven since 2021. Lieke’s love for the accordion is also conveyed by giving accordion lessons in several music schools.
Lieke obtained her Bachelor’s diploma in 2021 at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts at Fontys School of Arts in Tilburg. Presently, she is continuing her musical education at the Master of Music in Tilburg with Pieternel Berkers, Renée Bekkers and Vincent van Amsterdam.

Iria Garrido Meira was born in Vilaboa (1998, Spain), where she discovered her passion for the saxophone when she was four years old. Then she began her musical studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Víctor Ureña de Redondela (Redondela, Spain) with the teacher Elisa Arias Trigo. She finished there the Grado Profesional de Música (Professional Intermediate-level in Music Qualification) with the highest qualifications, obtaining the Premio Extraordinario Fin de Grao in 2018. Currently, she is studying her bachelor’s degree in the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (Tilburg, the Netherlands) in the class of Andreas van Zoelen.

Maria Margarida Lucas was born in Sesimbra (1997, Portugal), where she discovered her passion for the saxophone when she was seven years old. Later she began her musical studies at the Conservatório Regional de Palmela with the teacher Nuno Martins, followed by João Pedro Silva. In 2015 moved to Belgium, where she finished her secondary studies at Dé!Kunsthumaniora Antwerpen with Jan Schaeken. Presently studies at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts of Tilburg, Netherlands, in the class of Juana Palop and Ties Mellema.
